The Vietnamese government provided an online electronic system (It’s also known as eVisa or electronic visa) a few years ago so that travelers can obtain permission before traveling.

e-Visa types and requirements
Applicants can apply the eVisa according to their needs. They can choose from the purpose in the specified list while submitting the online form. If they are traveling to Vietnam for meetings, exhibitions, or attending a short term training, then they can choose the business eVisa.
On the other hand, if they would like to visit friends and family or go sightseeing in some beautiful places, then a tourist eVisa is more suitable. The cost of the eVisa is 79 EUR. The price includes the service fee and the visa fee.
There will be no extra charges needed at the borders. To obtain the visa, applicants need to prepare a photocopy of the passport that contains the personal data.
The passport should be with a minimum of 6 months validity.
Apart from a passport copy, a size of 4cm x 6cm portrait photo in digital without glasses and the applicant must look straight. The documents do not need to be taken by the professionals, but the applicant must make sure there are no reflections of the copy, and neither watermark covers any data on the image.
The approved eVisa is for a single entry. If you intend to enter more than one time, you need to apply as many as you need. The eVisa is valid for 30 days since a day before your entering.
Applicants can enter Vietnam within the expiration period, but they are not allowed to cross the border earlier than the specified date written on the permit.
