If you are a South Korean citizen, you are lucky because you don’t need a Visa to visit Vietnam at all. As long as you will leave the country within 15 days, you can simply carry your passport and visit Vietnam.
You can visit Vietnam by air, water, and road. At the point of entry, authorities will put a stamp on your passport that gives you access to Vietnam for 15 days.

- At least two blank pages on your Korean passport.
- The passport must be valid for at least six months on the day of arrival.
- You can stay only for 15 days.
To stop illegal workers taking undue advantage of this system, you cannot use this method to enter Vietnam till 30 days after your departure. You only need a Visa if you intend on staying for more than 15 days.
There are several methods to obtain a Visa
a) Visa on Arrival
This is the most popular method among South Koreans to get a Vietnam Visa. Just visit the Evisa website and fill in the form.
You will need to provide details like your name, purpose of visit, length of stay, etc.
Once you have filled the form, you will have to wait for 3-4 days. If you are approved, you will receive your “Approval Letter” through an email.
Depending on your requirement, you can either get a visa valid for a month or six months. If you visit to tour other countries after to arrive in Vietnam and then come back again, you will have to apply for a “Multiple-entry” Visa.
If you are in a hurry, you can request an urgent(1 day) or a super urgent(3-4) Visa as well.
NOTE: This a Visa On Arrival system, meaning your Visa will be issued after you land in Vietnam. The document that you get is the Approval Letter only. You will have to produce that to the authorities in Vietnam who will then issue a Visa.
b) Visa through Embassy
This is a time-consuming process. However, if you wish to obtain your Visa in person, you can visit the Vietnam Embassy in South Korea.
You can visit the embassy in person and show your passport and apply for a Visa. It is important to note that you will have to personally visit the embassy to apply and receive the Visa.

- Vietnam Visa Code (If applicable)
- Valid passport (Up-to Six Months)
- Passport Size photographs
- Approval letter (Filled Visa form if you are applying through the embassy)
- Two blank pages in the passport
